This is usually when I talk about the interview of the week, but I have to tell you something. It\u2019s been a tough week. If I had not committed to myself to sending an email a week, I probably would not have sent this.<\/span><\/p> Here\u2019s the funny thing, I\u2019m not special. We all go through something. Most of us might have something going on right now. What that means is that I know at least one person having a hard time (me), so when I talk to people, I can assume that they might be going through something as well and this will allow me to be a bit more understanding.<\/span><\/p> This also goes for hiring. Applicants think that all the pressure is on them to get a job sometimes. However if you\u2019ve ever seen a hiring manager trying to find good talent, you can see how stressful it is for them. Maybe not the same stress as someone looking for a job, but stressful nonetheless.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> So this week I talked to a hiring manager who is scaling his team quite a bit and running through some challenges.<\/span><\/p> Check out the podcast here.<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p> Speaking of stress\u2026 well actually the latest video has nothing to do with stress, and more about the differences between Channel SEs and SEs who work directly with the customers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> \u00a0<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t Now let\u2019s talk about the 4\/1\/1<\/span><\/p><\/div> 1- We don\u2019t know what the other person is going through. Whether it\u2019s a customer, hiring manager, job applicant or anyone else.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> 2- Take care of your health, mentally and physically. I\u2019m not an expert, but I believe that one drives another. If your mental health is not great, your physical health usually follows and vice versa. The beautiful thing is if you start with one, the other usually follows. And many companies have support for folks whether they need to talk to someone about their mind, or see a physical therapist.\u00a0<\/span><\/p> 3- And if you don\u2019t talk about it, you might not find out. I was talking to my boss just yesterday about what my family was going through, and he told me about a program at the current company I work with that might help. Here\u2019s the kicker, there is nothing wrong with it. We are all going through something. And frankly I feel if there is nothing wrong with you in this world we live in, then you might be out of the norm and I\u2019m happy for you!<\/span><\/p> 4- More importantly, take care of each other. Understand that even if someone is not talking about what they are going through, it doesn\u2019t mean that they are not going through anything.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div> Brain.fm<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p> I\u2019ve talked about this tool before.
